Onesie Wednesday and Baby Food

A week without an entry?!?  Yikes!!!  Anyway…Onesie Wednesday!  Today’s pick is a nod to what I consider my hometown, Columbus, Ohio!  We bought this onesie for Ellie jus tin time for football season.  It’s soft and comfy, plus adorable.  Available on Buckeye Corner’s website.

We’re still working on increasing Ellie’s solids intake and getting her weight up.  When we began introducing solids, I wanted to save some money by making my own from fresh produce.  I figured it would be a little healthier than buying store bought as well.  The first few attempts were successful.  Ellie enjoyed avocado, banana, and pumpkin.  Then, we introduced sweet potatoes and everything fell to pieces.  She pretty much stopped eating any and all foods, even the ones she liked.  In an attempt to help her constipation, I bought some Gerber pureed prunes.  She LOVED them!  I tried a few more Gerber foods…green beans, apples, bananas, and even sweet potatoes.  She can’t get enough!!  I guess I’m not as good a cook as I thought 😛

I’m not a huge fan of the cost of buying baby food, but I suppose it’s working.  I’ll stash my NUK freezer tray away for now, and hope that maybe once we’re over this hump I can reintroduce some homemade foods.  Here were a few of my (and Ellie’s!) favorites…

  • Avocado
  • Pumpkin
  • Banana
  • Sweet Potato
  • Prunes
